New to fusion?

New to fusion, or to partner dancing entirely? You are exactly who the 8:30 lesson is for.

What fusion is

Fusion is partner dancing that borrows from everything: blues, tango, swing, zouk, contemporary. Instead of one fixed vocabulary, dancers listen to the music and to each other and build the dance in the moment. It is welcoming to beginners because there is no single right way to do it, and it rewards experienced dancers because there is always more to learn.

Start at Solar

Our lesson runs 8:30 – 9:15 pm and is usually pitched for beginners. You do not need a partner, special shoes, or any experience. Come a few minutes early, sign in, and we will take it from there. Afterward, the dance starts at 9:15 and the floor is yours.

Nervous about asking people to dance? Read our code of conduct. Asking clearly and hearing no gracefully are skills we all practice here.
